Your backbone in France.
As simple as ielo.
To ensure service availability, support growth, and guarantee resilience, you need an independent fiber infrastructure designed to last.
Your core network is the engine of your business. To extend its reach, strengthen its robustness, or increase capacity, you need a fiber infrastructure that is reliable, documented, and fully controlled end to end.
With 30,000 km of network, ielo supports you in the design, expansion, and securing of your backbone — enabling you to absorb traffic growth and ensure operational continuity.
Looking to extend your core network? Unfold Fold
Pour renforcer votre footprint ou connecter de nouveaux POPs, nous mettons à votre disposition des services optiques haute performance :
- Dark Fiber: Connect your equipment using dedicated optical fibers, ready to be lit, over controlled and fully documented routes.
- Wavelengths up to 100 Gb/s:Benefit from high-capacity wavelengths to extend your backbone or interconnect your critical infrastructure.
- Interconnections where you need them:Thanks to our strong presence in the French data center ecosystem and our nationwide footprint, we enable links between:
- Datacenter ↔ Datacenter
- Datacenter ↔ Customer sites
- Customer site ↔ Customer site
…where many providers limit themselves to data center ↔ data center interconnections only.
Our goal: give you greater reach, higher density, and more freedom in the design of your network.
Is backbone resilience a top priority for you? Unfold Fold
We design architectures built to withstand disruptions and reduce outage risks:
- Physically diverse routes: Our 11,000 km long-haul network and 19,000 km metropolitan network allow us to deliver true route diversity, tailored to the specific constraints of your sites.
- Redundant transport: To ensure a high level of availability, we design multi-route architectures (protection or restoration), based on feasibility studies.
- Out-of-Band (OOB) access: To retain control even in the event of a major incident on third-party infrastructure, we can deploy a dedicated OOB access, fully isolated from your production traffic.
Our goal: real resilience — not theoretical resilience.
Looking to increase inter-site transport capacity? Fold Unfold
Your critical environments — clusters, service platforms, cloud, sensitive IT systems — require optical links that can keep pace with growing demand.
With optical capacity of up to 96×400G per route (scalable), we help you absorb traffic growth without compromising performance.
- High-capacity wavelengths (n×10G / n×100G): Services calibrated for demanding use cases — data center interconnection, data replication, real-time synchronization, and cloud services.
- Flexible routes and bandwidth:Subject to feasibility studies, we can evolve routes, capacities, and connection points to match the requirements of your network architecture.
Our goal: a scalable backbone capable of supporting your ambitions.

for your core network?
A robust nationwide network:
30,000 km under control
12,000 km of long-haul backbone, 21,000 km of metropolitan network, and a dense presence in data centers: we operate an independent, end-to-end controlled, high-capacity infrastructure. Your core network is built on solid foundations — not on hidden dependencies.
In-house engineering that designs every route
Our in-house Engineering Office designs and documents your architectures: constraint analysis, route selection, outage risk assessment, and topologies tailored to your use cases. With ielo, you know exactly what your backbone is built on — and who designed it.
24/7 operations for your critical environments
Our NOC provides continuous monitoring — alarms, incidents, traffic, and optical measurements. With our SLAs, MTTR commitments, and clear reporting, you manage your service levels with full transparency. Your network is never left unattended.
For our wavelength services, we provide a 24/7 4-hour MTTR — a rare commitment in the optical transport space.
Your questions, our answers… Simple, the ielo way!
A straightforward, technical FAQ to guide your architecture choices:
capacity, redundancy, dark fiber, wavelengths, and OOB.
What are the advantages of an independent fiber backbone? Unfold Fold
An independent backbone eliminates critical dependencies and imposed routes. You retain control over your routing, capacity, and future upgrades, while benefiting from higher availability and a truly resilient architecture.
When should you choose dark fiber instead of wavelengths? Unfold Fold
Dark fiber is a passive optical fiber on which you deploy your own equipment and build your own capacity. Wavelengths (10G / 100G) are active optical services provided by ielo, ready to use and sized for high-capacity transport. The two options address different needs.
Dark fiber is ideal if you want to:
- fully control your architecture,
- use your own DWDM equipment,
- scale capacity at your own pace.
Wavelengths are better suited if you are looking for a turnkey solution, without deploying your own active optical equipment.
What happens if an optical route is cut? Unfold Fold
Depending on the architecture in place, we can activate protection or restoration mechanisms. The goal is to automatically or quickly reroute traffic in order to maintain service continuity.
Can you guarantee constant bandwidth between our sites? Unfold Fold
Yes. Wavelength services are delivered with fixed bandwidth (10G or 100G) and stable performance. Dark fiber performance depends on the optics you deploy, giving you full freedom in how you size and scale capacity.
Can your network support significant traffic growth? Fold Unfold
Yes. Our DWDM infrastructure can scale up to 96×400G per route (evolutive). This makes it possible to absorb traffic peaks, cloud migrations, clusters, and critical flows without degrading performance.
Is it possible to modify a route or bandwidth at a later stage? Fold Unfold
Yes, subject to a feasibility study. We can evolve routes, delivery points, or capacity over time, depending on your architecture and future requirements.
Can you help design our backbone? Fold Unfold
Yes. Our in-house Engineering Office can analyze your constraints, risks, and critical traffic flows, and propose a resilient architecture tailored to your needs (routes, redundancy, topologies, OOB, etc.).
How long does service delivery take? Fold Unfold
It depends on the topology and the routes involved. On existing routes with immediate availability, service delivery can be fast. For specific configurations, an engineering study and construction work may be required.
